CCNTX

Community Connections North Texas is a nonprofit formed in 2019 to support United Advocates and the IDD community in North Texas. We are a 501(c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit.

United Advocates

United Advocates is a Fort Worth group run by and for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). United Advocates is a chapter of Texas Advocates.  United Advocates has existed since the 1980s.

What Drives Us

Our goal is to get people out of the house!

Current events include:

  • Wednesday meetings at Genesis United Methodist Church that focus on health and wellness, volunteering (snack packs), socializing, life skills, plus arts and crafts.
  • Friday Zoom meetings
  • Annual trip to Texas Advocates conference
  • Social activities and field trips: movies, dinners, zoo, State Fair of Texas, Genesis Men’s retreat
  • Individual support for self-advocates and their families, including information and referral, transportation and anything else that improves their quality of life (volunteer basis)

MHMR of Tarrant County Community Dance

My Health My Resources of Tarrant County will be hosting Community Dances each month!

Every dance will take place on the dates below from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
